Daily Business Review Reports on Salazar Law $3.5M Miami Judgment

Salazar secured a $3.5 million judgment and preliminary injunction on behalf of a global seafood distributor against a group of Miami-based seafood importers.

Salazar Law brought the lawsuit on behalf of Miami-headquartered Valia Trading Corp. against the Elite Catch Group for the alleged failure to comply with the parties' exclusive-distribution agreement. It alleged Elite failed to pay Valia the outstanding shared profits for seafood products sold by the Elite within Valia's exclusive sales territories of the United States, Russia, China and Mexico.

"I think that this result is a good example of the court's complex division quickly granting relief and enforcing the terms of a clear agreement, and seeing through inadequate defenses and made-up issues of fact that in the past would have resulted in denial of summary judgment," said Luis Salazar. "And our client is very gratified that justice in this case was swift."
